Reminder for Choir families: Dress rehearsal for the May 19 concert is this Sunday, May 5, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Grace has begun searching for an Associate Pastor! You can find a job description and instructions for how to apply at Grace's website. The elders will follow a 6-step hiring plan that includes phone and video interviews, questionnaires, reference checks, sermon evaluations, and on-site visits. Collecting resumes is part of the first step. If you know anyone who might be interested in the position, please direct them to the website. Also, please pray fervently that God would provide an Associate Pastor for the congregation.
Grace’s summer schedule begins on Sunday, May 26. There will be two morning services, one at 8:30 a.m. and one at 10:30 a.m. There will be no Sunday school until after Labor Day.

May 5 is Connection Sunday. During Sunday school, both adult classes will meet in the Fellowship Hall for snacks and guided conversations around tables. It is a good way to get to know others at Grace! There will also be special snacks for the children’s classes.

Grace Church's 50th Anniversary!

Grace’s 50th anniversary is on May 12, 2024. To mark the occasion, Grace’s first pastor, Herb Samworth (and his wife, Carolyn), will visit on Sunday, May 19. Both Pastors Samworth and Joel DeVinney will share brief messages during the morning services.

Join us in the evening for Church Work Day to weed, mulch, plant, and clean up around the property. Bring yard tools and gloves, if you can. Pizza provided at 5:30pm. Sign up online so we know how much pizza to order, but last-minute additions are welcome. Questions? Contact Joel Myer.

Encore Seniors are invited to Seasoned Citizen’s Day at Sandy Cove Conference Center, North East, MD, Thursday, May 23. The van will leave the church at 8:00 a.m. and return about 3:00 p.m. The day features coffee and refreshments upon arrival, a program with a speaker and music, and an All-You-Can-Eat Lunch Buffet. Graduation Sunday is June 2. Will you graduate this year from high school, college, grad school, or a trade school? Grace would like to celebrate with you! Please register by May 19 in order to be included in the slide show. Even if you are unable to attend on June 2, please sign up!

All are invited to the Grace Kids Choir presentation of Unstoppable God at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. The program will be followed by an ice cream social in the Fellowship Hall. Invite friends!

The elders will ask the congregation to consider several amendments to Grace’s Constitution at the congregational meeting on Sunday, June 2. You can read a final draft of the proposed changes here. If you would like a printed copy, email Linda in the office.

The Souza family (Grace's outreach partners serving in Brazil) will visit the United States this summer. They will be with us on Sunday, July 21, at our church picnic and have a need for a vehicle while they are here. If you have a car they can borrow between July 10 and August 20, please let Grace's Administrator, Linda Kerr, know.

The Men's Bible Study that met on Saturday mornings in March will repeat on Wednesday evenings in May (8, 15, 22) from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Joel DeVinney will lead this study of Malachi. The men will spend 60 minutes in Bible study and 30 minutes in prayer in small groups for one another. Register to participate. Contact Joel DeVinney if you have any questions.

Two video classes for adults run through May: Harvest USA’s Raising Sexually Faithful Kids in the Fellowship Hall (designed to encourage and equip parents to train up their children regarding sex and sexuality) and HB Charles Jr.'s Benedictions and Doxologies of the Bible in the auditorium. Plan to join one of the classes!

Church Center App: You can find the church directory online or in the app. You can make changes to your own information, enter block out dates if you are are on a service team, see the church calendar, and join prayer groups.

Grace's Elders have established a group in the Church Center App to share prayer requests. Open the app and select the "More" menu along the bottom, "Groups," "Other Groups," and then "Grace at Prayer." Select "Join." Then use "Messages (+New)" to share prayer requests. If you wish to receive immediate notification when requests are posted, turn on notifications under "Profile & Settings."
